Sunset Dunes Art Exhibition
Friends of Sunset Dunes invited the Far Out Gallery to curate a show at the beach.
The Far Out Gallery has curated an Art show at Ocean Beach with Friends of Sunset Dunes.
I am so grateful to be invited to show with this group of FOG artists at the beach. Special thanks to extraordinary Anne Marguerite Herbst for putting the show together. She has a new show of paintings called “Portals” currently up at FOG through Dec 28th.
Show reception November 23rd from 12-3pm at Sunset Dunes and Judah.
The Sunset Dunes Art Exhibit is supposed to be up for three months and joins a lot of other Art displays through out the Sunset Dunes park, a great place to meet friends, walk, rest and dream by the beach.
The painting below is reproduced on one of many Art panels posted near Judah St. It is watercolor and gouache on paper and is partly inspired by the extraordinary sunset hues seen regularly at Ocean Beach. I started this painting in 2017 a year after moving to the Sunset from the Western addition, where we lived for 15 years. After tabling the painting many times in favor of more time sensitive projects, I finished the painting in 2024 in time for an open call show at FOG. I absolutely love living close to the beach. The spaciousness felt walking at the beach, looking at the vastness of the water is deeply comforting. This painting is also about healing, dreaming, meeting your guides and finding the light within.
